Community connections: My mother's family moved to Titirangi over fifty years ago. Both my parents are musicians and my mother is a regular stall holder at the Titirangi Steiner School. Having attended Woodlands Park and Titirangi primary schools, Glen Eden intermediate school and Green Bay High School, I have strong connections in the area. Executive member, Auckland University Students Association (2000, 2003); Kai Tika Community food co-op Auckland 2002-present; Political activist about issues such as APEC, GE, Tertiary education, anti war, among others 1999 - 2005; broad connections with staff and students at University of Auckland's School of Environment through my role as a contract tutor since 2008; Broad connections with Central Auckland green-minded people through political activism, food communities and social networks.

Policy Interests/Expertise: Sustainable economics; Sustainable land-use practices and organics; Environmental (and economic) education; Holistic community economic development; sustainable economic development; safe and whole food; health; Coastal development; natural health Academic interest in the interface between market forces and alternative economic practices.

My broad political issues: I think we need to expand on the fantastic work already being done by our MPs in parliament, by getting more people in, and by remaining true to our ideals - which have got us this far already. I am passionate about rethinking and reclaiming economics as processes which serve our societal aims, not the other way around.
