I was born in Lower Hutt and was raised in districts throughout New Zealand from the far North to Invercargill. I completed my secondary education at St Kentigern College in Pakuranga Auckland and was initially employed on a stud sheep farm for two years up in Te Kopuru. Moving back to Auckland I completed a building apprenticeship and have been a self-employed builder for the past 22 years and am a Licensed Building Practitioner and approved EQC and insurance repairer.
I have also been married for 22 years and have four children and one grandson. I recently invested my building knowledge into a training programme for youth for 6.5 years initiated by the Youth Development Opportunities Trust, an employment catalyst for Waimakariri Youth. For many years I have also been involved in the leadership of children's programmes in the North Canterbury area. For the last 5 years I have been involved with the Prison Volunteers in North Canterbury. I am also currently the Chair person of a trust which we have been with over the last ten years distributing National and International Aid. In my spare time I enjoy co-driving in rally sprints and travelling overseas with organisations like Habitat for Humanity.
I am passionate about common sense policies and democracy and am willing to put in the effort to make a change.
