John owned his own dairy farm in the 1970’s and has since had experience as a hospital orderly, bus and truck driver, in portable sawmilling, as a factory and produce worker, and has owned and operated small businesses, which have included water filters, cosmetic and book sales and a glass coating business.

John has a Diploma in Ministry, having spent three years at Bible College of New Zealand. He has spent five years in self-supporting ministry in two rural parishes in Northland.

John Norvill and his wife - who is a pharmacist - currently own the Wairoa Pharmacy, with John running the financial side of the business.  Their children have been home-schooled, and heir eldest child has now returned home to purchase her mother’s share of the business.  Their son is at Massey University, Palmerston North, doing a chemical engineering degree and their youngest daughter is in England training as an equestrian competitor.

The reason John is standing for ACT is:
• to make a difference;
• to encourage others to choose the party that has the same ideals as so many Kiwis;
• to open up the opportunity for discussion rather than have so many vote for the same parties, while expecting a different result;
• to have voters exercise their right to choose a party of principals and solutions;
• to stop the rot.
