I am standing in Epsom because I believe that the voters there are being taken for granted. I am also opposed to the extreme policies proposed by ACT and I do not believe they would lead New Zealand towards a prosperous and peaceful future. I believe if you work hard, you should be able to succeed.

That’s the heart of the Kiwi Dream and I’ll fight to rebuild it. But over the years, things have changed and we’re no longer the land of hope and opportunity we used to be.

When I grew up, New Zealanders from any background had real opportunities to get ahead. A good education and a well-paid job meant we could build a future and save for our own home.

All of these are now in question. Too many of our friends and family head to Australia instead.

As a seasoned lawyer, company director and CEO of many start-ups I have experienced both winning and losing, and bring the lessons learned to political decision making.

It’s not too late. We still live in a beautiful, safe country. It’s absolutely the right time to dig below the surface and fix some fundamental issues that will get us back on track. We need a change of plan to keep the Kiwi Dream alive. Vote for Labour and we will help deliver that change. It’s your choice. Change nothing and nothing changes.
