I am passionate about children flourshing in caring families and engaging communities. I believe all children deserve the best possible start in life and Labour’s Agenda for Change for Children will do just that. By putting children, their families and whanau at the centre of social policy, Labour will make New Zealand the best place in the world to bring up children. That’s something which resonates well with me and that’s why I have chosen to stand and make a difference.

I was born in Hofoa Tonga arriving in New Zealand in 1980. I grew up in Tonga and New Zealand attending Onehunga Primary, Royal Oak Intermediate (previously Manukau Intermeidate) and concluding secondary education at Onehunga High School. I graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Social Work. I am married with a blended family of four children where we live Manurewa Auckland City.

My background is social work where I have worked in Statutory Social Services Sector for the past 20 years, in the areas of Youth offending and Child Protection. I currently hold a leadership management position in a Social Services Organisation in Auckland. Therefore I have worked alongside some of New Zealand's most vulnerable children.

I’m privileged to be one of two Pacific Island Women who are Labour List Candidates for General Election 2011. As well campaigning Labour’s Agenda for change for children; I will also be campaigning alongside candidates on Labour’s women’s policy and cost of living mainly in the Auckland area as the Pacific Sector Campaign Manager and a member of the Manurewa Labour team.
