I have lived on the West Coast all of my life.  My early working life was in the earthmoving and contracting industry working on land development and roading.

I have spent the last 30 years in the mining industry.  I currently own and operate the Grey River Gold Dredge.

There are two issues I will be very vocal on this election:

• The RMA and its administration.  Our standard of living has been steadily falling since 1991 when this Act was introduced in Parliament.  New Zealanders have suffered a loss of property, and individual freedom in the implementation of this Act, and land has been confiscated without compensation.

• Carbon Tax – I don’t support this tax as it has put a huge cost onto all New Zealanders, for no tangible benefit.  When in opposition the National Party campaigned against this Tax. On becoming Government, they promptly introduced it!
