Alan was born in Egypt. His mother was Russian and spoke Arabic as her fifth language. She spoke little English until Alan was 5 years old. His father was Scottish and Portuguese.
Alan went to 11 schools in countries hot and cold. He left school at 17 and worked in rough jobs, and the Ministry of Works where he was regional secretary for the P.S.A. and a national delegate.
Alan now owns a petrol station. He is married, with three grown children. He strongly believes in personal freedom, strong prosperous people, strong families, and a tolerant civil society.
ACT is the only party compatible with his beliefs.
